Battle of the Immortals Review

Battle of the Immortals is a free to play 2D MMORPG developed and published by Perfect World. Although it is still in the closed beta, most of players from MMORPG.com community reviewed this game upon its first entry.
PROS:
- Fast-paced action from level 1. The rythm gets more intense in higher levels, because you have more skills to manage.
- Good skill system – it has complexity (each skill has a different goal) and variety (you can choose which skill to level up). Combined to the stat system it adds some good depth to character technical customization.
- Isotropic view is so rare nowadays. It helps a lot the fast-paced action feeling and it’s unique. Some players have complained about it but i don’t see any problem.
- Every monster in the game can be your pet, which is awesome. I have a spartan warrior level 25 Mounts.
- The questing system can prove itself very useful if your are tired of reading all, but that’s a negative point too, more further.
Another F2P tossed onto the pile. I wish it the best, but it really amazes me how many F2P games get churned out every year, and how they all happen to look and feel so similar.
CONS:
- Messy and ugly UI. It really needs some upgrade, there are things scattered through the entire screen and it looks old, like 6 years old.
- The graphics in the trailers were looking AWESOME. When the camera is zoomed in, it really does indeed. But when the camera is zoomed out, they are not as good as i thought it would be.
- This game really needs a button to target and attack the nearest monster. When you go into some dungeon with your group, for example, 5 players and 5 pets in the screen at the same time, you can barely see anything! Just keep clicking until you occasionally target a mob.
- The questing system works like this: you get your quests, the objective appears in your screen, you click the objective, your toon walks for himself to the objective spot, you do whatever you need to do, you click the NPC name in your screen, your toon walks for himself to the NPC, end. This is really good when you are lazy/tired and are trying just to have fun, but it sure does kill the quests. I didn’t read a single quest to level 30. Some players complained about mobs being too weird (there are spartan warriors in the freaking atlantis sea WTF), but I can’t say anything about this, because i don’t what the quests said.
- The game is too complex to me. That would be perfect if they fix the problems stated above + making it less complex. I just want some casual fun, action awesomeness. There are a TON of things to do in-game: economy, crafting, gearing up, improving ur gear, getting pets and mounts, improving them, leveling, quests, a lot of events, dungeons… i just want some hack ‘n slash.
