Heroes of Might and Magic Online is developed by TQ Digital, a subsidiary of NetDragon WebSoft that Owns MMOSite.com, BBGsite.com, Conquer Online, and etc. When it comes to Heroes of Might and Magic, It does not mean the HoMM, but Chinese styled game. Simply speaking, it is none of Ubisoft’s business, and it is absolutely run independently by the TQ Digital team headquartered in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.
HoMM MMO is an English version, or translated version of 英雄无敌在线, starting the closed beta on May 7, 2010, and the open beta of HoMM MMO is predicted to launch on June 11, 2010.
Heroes of Might and Magic Online (HoMM MMO) is also not closely bound up with HoMM3, HOMM5 and HOMM Kingdoms. http://mightandmagicheroeskingdoms.ubi.com/en/
1, Rip Off of the Original Success
Have you ever played a Chinese MMORPG? something like Conquer Online, Eudemon Online, Perfect World Online, Or Battle of the Immortals Online? When I thouch on such Chinese MMORPGs, you would possibly say they are crappy like plague, or avoid them, or they all fail!
The Annoying Chinese gaming Mechanisms can be found in Grinding, Mircro-transaction, Crafting, Upgrading, sometimes in vain.
2 Grinding and Repetitive
-HoMM MMO did a lot “innovations” compared to HOMM3. You can undertake the repetitive quests, Grind the way you have never grinded, upgraded your heoroes you never imagined and beyond the words, Magic Proficiency, Auto-combat, or auto-finght, WoW, it is a artificial intelligence. Wait… Wait… Wait …, that is not enough, what all innovations implemented in HoMM MMO is TQ is seeking a way out to make more money by using such innovations to the game that should have been around with a great reputation. In a world, you can upgrade any items and any creatures in HoMM MMO as long as you have enough money.
If you are enjoying Grinding, then HoMM is your best choice.
3 Graphics:
If a person wet behind the ears began to craft the graphics and artworks, chances are they were just practicing their skills or drawing some pictures, trying to amuse kids and children an at their spare time, while TQ did such childish works and showing off. OMG – What a pity for UBIsoft – TQ is discrediting you! Can you feel it?
Nice graphic, it feels like im playing in 1990′s. Except the town layout with the Chinese blonde big boobed lady that greets me every time i enter the castle. Whats the point she’s standing there? I’d rather bring her to my room..
It takes much more HD, loads longer, looks awful and HOMM3 after so many years loooks 10000000000000 x better.
4 Difficult navigation around the tactical maps. No resource bar at all.
“Resource management is difficult without a way to easily review what resources a player has via a screen or simple visual reminder like a bar over the screen. Make the interface more user friendly. The UI seems clunky and difficult to utilize. In tactical combat the HoM&M layout seems fine, I would recommend utilizing more of the HoM&M 3 or 4 tactical battle design but that’s personal preference. ” HoMM 3 payers said.
5. Ridiculous ways to upgrade creature by souls, why cant i just upgrade my structure and get my mobs upgraded?
6 towns - there is NO towns DO not call it town!!!!No town hall,no mage guild, balista, tavern etc etc
- The soul offering and/or mastery isn’t balanced according to how fast we lvl up. – the soul offering -> star level system is setup so that it encourages sloppy play while punishing good one
7 Endless duels. When a fight is fairly even, or the opponent is as slow as a turtle. IT can easily take 10 minutes a fight which is sooooo annoying. A battletimer + less time to decide on your action each turn would b great I think.
sry but that game feels like one of that crappy chinese free to play cashshop mmos, the game is a failure.
this game is a blant insult to the heroes of might and magic games, insanely insulting beyond words. reducing one of the most tactical and strategic games to a “go get this resource quest’ is the most insulting thing ever. this game has given me no hope in humanity and I am very very very very very very very very very disappointed.
This is not HOMM. They have taken away the fun factor of the HOMM games. Gameplay doesnt even compare to HOMM 3 , and i dont think having HOMM as an MMO style was the best idea. Graphics are not that great, gameplay is not that great, gameplay and character animations are bad, music is so so. HOMM was all about tactical exploration and combat.
8 tactical gameplay
tactical gameplay: ehm yes i searched for that but i didnt found anyone, its just a grinding game, grinding ressources and gold in zoned ugly maps for that castle where that stupid chinese-assistantfairy confronts me every visit.
skilltrees: ? yes there are no skilltrees u can skill anything up from lvl 1 (what i saw char is lvl 20)The tactical map where you have the smaller mounted figure fulfills that need but does not take advantage of the graphics that the rest of the game does.
- There is no auto-battle option which makes the game extremely grind heavy, time consuming and therefore boring at times
- There are items in real money shop which are otherwise unobtainable ingame
SO MEANS NO EVEN BASIC STRATEGY IN TOWN SIC! no dilema – money or creatures! in homm 3 – town hall or goblins – mage guild or monks , capitol or castle ! further more no creature growth no strategy on battlefield. Whats the point as long i have money EASLY rebuy more in townDO NOT CALL IT HOMM!

hey, I’m a Malaysian Chinese. It is unpleasant to insult in the name of “Chinese”.
However, I do feel the game is crappy; a disgrace to HoMM previous series.
I’m Chinese too but I don’t find this review insulting. A lot of what the review pointed out is, unfortunately, Dead On. What I did find insulting though is how TQ Digital managed to ‘develop’ HOMM Online. I’m a fan of the franchise and I felt very very very betrayed by how they made it so impossibly crappy, and I used to think it’s impossible to make HOMM crappy, but they did managed to – and with flying colors!!!
